Call for Papers – SPS 6th Research Conference

The School of Postgraduate Studies (SPS) at the Adventist University of Africa (AUA) is pleased to announce the 6th International Research Conference© with the theme: “Re-engineering the Future of Work in a Post-COVID-19 Era.” The 6th International Research Conference will continue in the excellence of previous Conferences at the University with this important theme.

The Covid-19 era has profoundly disrupted economies and societies. This dramatic change accelerated migration to digital technologies across sectors and sparked radical shifts in people’s lives and work. Workplace productivity and engagement have been affected. Looking forward, leaders need to respond to and recover from these social and cultural currents. They need to proactively define what the ‘new normal’ means for work, the workforce, and the workplace. Hence, the need for organizations to reset work for growth beyond the coronavirus pandemic. Positive response to the pandemic can leverage organizations to mitigate challenges associated with the pandemic and help countries rebuild. Now is the time for leaders, researchers, and other stakeholders to navigate to thrive as they re-engineer to rebuild the operations of their establishments to sustain competitive advantage. Thriving is not the absence of challenges and disruptions. It is adapting, prioritizing, and creating resilience to manage through instability. It is embracing new insights and capabilities that Covid-19 has accelerated to reimage the future altogether. This Conference will present and examine the latest research findings and strategies integral to reengineering or rebuilding the workplace post-Covid-19 era.

We invite and welcome conceptual, theoretical, and empirical papers from scholars, practitioners, and students on the future of work after the Covid-19 pandemic. All papers should be in accordance with the Conference theme: “Re-engineering the Future of Work in a Post-COVID-19 Era.” Sub-topics of interest include (but are not limited to):

Conference Details

The 6th International Research Conference offers a blended model for an online and in-person experience. It will be held from Thursday, August 18 to Saturday, August 20, 2022, virtually and at the Adventist University of Africa, Nairobi, Kenya.

1. Abstract submission (approximately 250 words): March 15, 2022
2. Accept/Reject notification: April 20, 2022
3. Full paper submission: July 07, 2022
4. Conference: August 18 – 20, 2022

Publication Opportunity

All abstracts and papers will be reviewed for acceptance and presentation online or in person. The Conference Committee will recommend selected papers from the Conference for further consideration for publication in any of the two Pan-African Journals (, subject to the journals’ blind
review process.
