CAFETERIA MANAGER

The University is looking for a dynamic, self-driven and result oriented professional to fill a vacancy for the position of Cafeteria Manager.

  1. The Job: Duties and Responsibilities

The Cafeteria Manager of AUA has the following duties and responsibilities:

  • To oversee the operation of the AUA cafeteria
  • To prepare monthly reports and submit them to the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Financial Administration regularly.
  • To support and uphold the philosophy of Adventist education and the mission of the University.
  • To ensure that cafeteria operations are in compliance with all food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Responsible for meal planning and ensuring that the menu provides balanced diet in harmony with Adventist standards.
  • To supervise and mentor cafeteria staff and also be responsible for the scheduling the staff working hours.
  • To ensure that the Cafeteria operates at a surplus and meets set profitability targets.
  • To ensure that kitchen equipment is kept in good working condition.
  • To maintain accurate records of food inventory, equipment, supplies, utensils etc and submit timely and cost-effective orders as needed.
  • To ensure high standards of customer care and time management.
  1. The Individual:

The Adventist University of Africa is therefore looking for an individual with the qualifications, experience, skills and characteristics listed below.

  • Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in or a professional qualification in food science or related field is required.

  • Experience
    • A minimum of three (3) years in a senior position in the food industry
    • Experience in meal planning and food preparation.

    • Excellent communication skills and problem-solving capability
    • Planning and time management skills
    • Record-keeping
    • Ability to work under pressure
  • Character
    • Both a good leader and a good follower
    • Discretion, Honesty and integrity
    • Good judgement and professional attitude
    • A team player with good supervisory skills and a sense of responsibility
    • Stress tolerant
